Andy Benoit

Bio Summary

I’m a live sound engineer, producer, and the creator behind Music Deck Productions, a tropical backyard studio built around good vibes and great energy. With more than 20 years of experience, I’ve mixed hundreds of bands across genres including rock, country, Latin funk, blues, reggae, R&B, and pop.

Beyond my long-term work in major resort and university settings, I’ve freelanced at some of South Florida’s busiest music spots adapting to every style, space, and stage that comes my way.

Today, I mix, film, and produce original multi-camera performances for Music Deck Productions, blending technical skill with creative direction to highlight emerging talent. And while the next series is always in the works, I’m continually open to new live sound engineering opportunities wherever great music needs a solid mix.

Video of my Work as a Live Sound Engineer

Highlight Short of my time at Margaritaville

For over 6 years I had the privilege of working as a sound man for a resort in South Florida, surrounded in a tropical setting with three distinct stages: the vibrant restaurant, the dockside waterways, and the infamous beach theater bandshell, where I worked with hundreds of bands spanning from rock and funk to pop, reggae, Latin jazz, country, and blues.  See my stage setups, mic placement, amazing bands, and great vibes all in this short video.

Music Channel Video Introduction

This video helps transition an already established YouTube channel previously known as Paradise Sound Man into the new Music Channel series created by Music Deck Productions.  The original channel featured videos about live sound production (stage plots, in-ear monitors, and more).  Now, the channel pivots it's focus to the artist and capturing them in a live performance series set on a tropical deck stage overlooking a serene lake and surrounded by palm trees.

Live Show Recordings

Below is link to a portfolio of bands I mixed and recorded live.

This playlist features rock, country, reggae, latin funk, and cover bands I captured directly from a Midas M32 and a Behringer X32. These shows were live performances of some musicians featured on the bandshell beach theatre and in the Jimmy Buffet restaurant.

Backyard Studio Sessions

With my experience in audio engineering and production, as well as the wonderful relationships built with many amazing artists over the years, I led the creative vision for a video series captured by my in-home studio setup with Music Deck Productions.

Check out this playlist featuring many talented artists I had the pleasure to mix and record live as part of an original music series for The Music Deck on YouTube.

Deck Building Skills - The Start of Music Deck Productions

My friends and I built a 16' x 8' deck stage between two palms trees and overlooking a serene lake.  This stage provided the platform for talented musicians to create magical performances.  It started here with some lumber, a lending hand, encouragement, tons of screws, blood/sweat/tears, and a lot of soul - check it out in this time-lapse build video. Then, watch some of these incredible performances @ The Music Deck on YouTube.
